Testimonials

  • The Storyville provided the absolutely perfect small hotel for enjoying our first New Orleans experience in twenty years! Location, between the fair grounds and Bourbon Street, made everything a walk or a short bus or taxi ride. Watching the people passing by, from the porch, was its own entertainment while relaxing with coffee in the morning or cocktails in the evening. Our fully equipped kitchen, which we smartly stocked, ensured a lazy morning start or a complete happy hour. And the neighborhood was perfect. Want to talk about our new favorite “Cheers” — Buffa’s, a short stroll from the Storyville. Wonderful people. Excellent music. Fun!!! Room Tip: A suite with a window to the veranda is perfect.

Stayed in very large one bedroom complete with full kitchen. Room was clean and quiet. Felt like I had my own apartment in New Orleans! Nice to be able to enjoy a glass of wine in the spacious, yet cozy backyard at the end of the work day. Location is perfect if you want to be able to walk to the French Quarter, yet be able to get a good, quiet nights sleep. Owner was very friendly and hospitable. Looking forward to my next trip to N.O. Will definitely stay at Hotel Storyville again!

  • Great place. The owner is incredibly friendly, but gives guests their space. Located on a quiet block within easy walking distance of the French quarter. The back yard is a very nice feature and the two bedroom apt was nice with all standard amenities. Stayed May 2011

My wife and I attended a business conference and stayed at Hotel Storyville. The location was convenient to the Palm Court Jazz Cafe where we had dinner and we were able to walk to the restaurant. The location is convenient to the French Quarter. The host was accommodating. Esplanade is a moderately busy street, but the room was quiet. We stayed on a Thursday. There’s also a garden/patio behind the hotel where I enjoyed a cigar after dinner. The hotel is in more of a neighborhood than a business district. Someone was practicing their saxophone in a nearby house as we were sitting in the garden area and there was a nice ambiance. The rooms aren’t high-end, but I thought it was fair for the price.

  • Very very nice place for our trip to the Sugar Bowl. I was quite pleased with the room. We had a one bedroom with sitting area, dining table, and small kitchen. We arrived early, but it wasn’t a problem. Parking fee was $5/day which was a super deal. It’s a little bit of a walk to Bourbon St, which is where we spent a great deal of time, but since the weather was nice it wasn’t all that bad. Everyone around was very friendly and if we needed anything we could have contacted them 24/7. It’s nice to know that you can find a quaint little place like this amidst all the big hotel chains and at a very reasonable price! Being on a budget this place made the trip possible for us and that meant a lot to me.

I can’t recommend this hotel enough. We were in town for mardi gras and it was perfect. Just far enough from downtown that we could get some sleep at night, but still only a short short walk to everything we wanted to see. Reasonably priced, clean and cozy, with a full kitchen.

  • My husband and I needed a break and this place was perfect, close to the Quarter but yet very quiet. Really enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the mornings drinking coffee and people watching. We ended up staying one night longer than originally planned and Barbara was very accomodating. Plan on returning in the near future.

My bride and I spent 4 nights at Hotel Storyville last week and it exceeded our expectations. The room was clean, comfortable and charming. The hotel has a great balcony for relaxing or enjoying a cigar along with a beautiful courtyard in back for catching some sun. It was located about 6 blocks from the heart of the French Qtr. which was close enough for easy access but far enough to avoid the noise and conjestion. The Innkeeper is a wealth of information on great places to eat and things to do. All in all it was a fantastic experience.

  • Ok the lady we spoke with was really nice. Basically the hotel is a house which was converted into a hotel. The rooms for the most part have a kitchen and a bathroom. They also have a great backyard and the lady is very laid back. you can start a barbecue party so long as you don’t make too much noise to wake everyone in the neighborhood. The room looked very cute like something out a story book and it was just cozy for lack of a better word. it was one of the best hotels i have been that felt more like home. and when i go there again i will definitely not stay anywhere else.
